Why we work this way

Independent tech support has an image problem, and it was earned. The category has been used as cover for one of the most persistent consumer frauds of the last fifteen years, to the point where advertising platforms restrict it as a class and a great many people now assume that anyone offering computer help over the phone is running a scam.

That is a rational assumption and we do not resent it. It does mean that a legitimate operator has to work considerably harder to be believable, which is why this site leads with a free diagnosis, a fixed quote before work, a published list of things we will not do, and a page explaining in detail how to recognise the scam version of us. None of it is marketing gloss. It is the minimum required to be trustworthy in a category this compromised.

What we are not

FixMyPC is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by Microsoft, Apple, or any software publisher or hardware manufacturer. All product and company names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe the systems we work on.

If your problem is covered by a manufacturer warranty or is best resolved by the software publisher directly, we will tell you that at diagnosis and point you to them. We would rather send you somewhere free than bill you for something you should not have had to pay for.

FixMyPC is the trading name of Fixmypc LLC. This is our only telephone number and our only website. We do not operate under other trading names and we do not use call centres that identify themselves as anyone else.
