Whatever it is, we probably work on it.
Windows and Mac, phones and tablets, printers and networks. If it is a computer or a device that talks to one, it is something we handle — and the diagnosis is free either way.

Diagnosis first. Price second. Work third.
The order matters. Nobody should be asked to approve a bill for a problem that has not been identified yet.
Tell us what is happening
Call us or send a message describing the problem in whatever words make sense to you. You do not need to know the technical term for it.
Free diagnosis
A technician works out what is actually wrong. This costs nothing and carries no obligation. If it turns out to be something you can fix yourself in two minutes, we will tell you how and there will be no charge.
A written quote before any work
You get a fixed price for the specific work, in writing, before anyone touches anything. No hourly meter running, no scope creeping upward mid-job. If you decline, that is the end of it and you owe nothing.
The work, then verification
We carry out the agreed work and confirm with you that the original problem is genuinely resolved before we close the job.
The rules we hold ourselves to.
This industry has a reputation problem, and it is deserved. These are the commitments that separate a legitimate support business from the operations that give it a bad name — and they are the ones we will be held to.
Explicit consent before any remote session
We connect to your computer only when you have started the session yourself and can see everything happening on screen. You can end it at any moment by closing the window. We never leave software behind that lets us reconnect later without you.
We never ask for your passwords
Not for your bank, not for your email, not for anything. If a task genuinely requires a credential, you type it yourself while we look away, or we work around it.
No payment by gift card, wire, or cryptocurrency
We invoice normally and take normal payment methods. Any request to pay for computer support with gift cards or a bank wire is a scam, from us or from anyone.
We do not manufacture problems
We will not tell you that you are infected when you are not, and we do not sell software subscriptions on commission. A free diagnosis that concludes 'nothing is wrong' is a perfectly normal outcome here.
Nothing is deleted without asking
No files, no programs, no accounts. If something needs to go, we ask first and explain why.
If someone called you, it was not us
FixMyPC never makes unsolicited calls. We will never phone you to say your computer is infected, never display a warning telling you to call us, and never ask for a password, a gift card, or a bank transfer. If someone contacts you claiming to be FixMyPC, it is not us — hang up and report it.
Two formats account for almost every tech-support scam: an unsolicited phone call claiming your computer is sending error reports, and a full-screen browser warning with a number to ring. Both are fake. A real fault does not announce itself with a phone number. Report either to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
Before you call.
Which devices and brands do you work on?
Windows PCs and laptops, Macs on both Apple silicon and Intel, iPhones and iPads, and printers from every major manufacturer — inkjet, laser and multifunction. We are independent, so we are not tied to any manufacturer and we take no commission on hardware. We do not carry out physical repairs such as screens, batteries or water damage, and we do not do warranty work; when that is the answer, we tell you at diagnosis and point you to the right place rather than charging you for it.
Is the diagnosis really free?
Yes, and there is no obligation attached to it. We work out what is wrong and tell you the fixed price to fix it. If you would rather not proceed, you owe nothing and we will not chase you. If the fault turns out to be something trivial you can resolve yourself, we will just tell you how.
Why don't you list prices on the site?
Because a headline price for 'virus removal' would be close to meaningless — the same symptom can be a two-minute browser extension or a failing drive that needs data recovered. We would rather diagnose first and quote a real number than advertise a low figure and revise it upward once we are in the job.
Do you fix things remotely or in person?
Most software problems we resolve remotely, in a session you start and can watch and end yourself. Hardware faults, network installations and anything needing physical access are handled on site. We will tell you which applies at diagnosis.
Are you Microsoft or Apple? Are you my antivirus company?
No. FixMyPC is an independent service business with no affiliation to Microsoft, Apple, or any antivirus or software publisher. We work on their products; we do not represent them. If your issue is best handled by the manufacturer under warranty, we will tell you and point you to them rather than charging you for it.
